The course of study in Precision Science and Technology focuses on the education and investigation in applying fundamental science for the development of advanced technology in various fields of industry.
The word "precision" does not merely refer to the preciseness or accuracy in dimensions. It represents the thoroughness of our attitude in investigating the highest quality in the nature and function. Physics and mathematics form the core of the subjects based on the idea that an engineer who deals with advanced technology must also be a scientist.
Students can systematically study in the fields of Functional Materials, Scientific Hardware Systems, Quantum Measurement and Instrumentation, Atomically Controlled Processes, Ultra-Precision Machining, Computational Physics, Applied Mechanics, and Applied Surface Science for thesis work. The course of study provides the students with the fundamental knowledge necessary for the practical application and deeper investigation.
